UnderCoverXP

Wicked & Wild, the developer behind the UnderCoverXP application, came up with this Windows program to meet a very specific need: the need to create covers for CDs, DVDs, BluRay discs, VHS tapes, DVD boxes, and so on. You can use this application free of charge to create beautiful looking covers for your collection of discs.

To enjoy the aforementioned functionality you must first download a 990Kb archive onto your computer (any download that’s less than 1MB will complete in a blink, even on a lousy internet connection). After that, you must extract the contents of the archive, run the setup.exe file, and follow the instructions presented by the setup wizard to install UnderCoverXP on your Windows-powered machine (the application is compatible with Vista and Windows 7).

By default, UnderCoverXP uses the Anime skin; there are several other skins you can choose from the Options menu. Do note that apart from the Clean and Media skins, they all have an anime feel. The basic layout of the interface remains the same, no matter what skin you choose. You have two dropdown menus to choose the type of cover you want to create; one to the left and the other to the right. Underneath there are preview panes; click them to load the images you want to use. When you’re done, just hit print and you’ll have your beautiful cover.

UnderCoverXP has a nice surprise for those who do their printing at the office: you can enable “Dummy print job name (for printing at the office)” from the Options menu.
